| A carrier, this vessel depends on fighters and bombers for most of its power. While it does posses a reasonable margin of direct firepower, especially when using its missile battery ability, its use as a direct fire platform is limited. Its heavy fighter abilities increases the firepower of its own strike craft, while embargo allows you to leach income away from enemy planets. Its ultimate ability is of limited utility, and is rarely taken. This vessel makes a powerful flagship, especially on smaller maps. Its high fighter compliment allows it to take out enemy LRMs, while embargo can be crippling if applied in the early game. Later on, heavy fighters and missile batteries give it enough firepower to not be a joke, and embargo allows it to effectively raid the enemies rear areas. Carriers are noted for the strength as raiding platforms -- this is the perfect capitol to "assist" them in those duties. |
