Remember Me

The Seven Deadly Sins

1. Excess -- do not use any one idea or approach excessively, you must maintain balance and moderation in all things.

2. Scoutlessness -- do not forget to scout, scout often, scout well. If you don't scout, you can run into trouble, and if you don't scout the map quickly, the enemy may do something you aren't expecting that you could have countered, had you but known of it in time.

3. Passivity -- while it is inevitable that there will be prolonged periods of "peace", don't leave your enemy alone for too long. Throw raids at his flanks to keep him busy, or do something nasty where he isn't expecting it.

4. Strategic Concentration -- Don't use the "uber-fleet of DOOM!"; use multiple smaller fleets to slice through multiple systems and harry your opponent into oblivion. A single force can be in but one place at one time... three forces can be in three places at one time.

5. Tactical Division -- on the other hand, don't run around piecemeal; keep your individual forces tight and close together, and make sure they engage the enemy as a single unit for maximum effectiveness.

6. Stagnation -- Your empire must expand. Remember rule number one, you don't want to overexpand and wind up in the red on planet development, but at the same time you must not expand too slowly. Its a balancing act, and a difficult one.

7. Virtuousness: You will need to engage in these sins, and often, if you seek to win. For all rules are but guidelines, meant to be broken when the time is right. Learning when the time is right... that is the hard question, and a study of lifetimes.

Remember the Sins child, and may they serve you well!
